This set of essays describes how to meditate and how to work with some of the common obstacles to meditation practice. Meditation is scientifically documented to improve your health, reduce your stress, relax your mind and body, and make long-lasting changes in your brain. Meditation has an even deeper potential to give you insight into how to live more fully and ultimately free the mind from human suffering. The practices are derived from the Theravada Buddhist tradition and are variations of instructions I have been given by teachers from the Insight Meditation Society and Spirit Rock Meditation Center. The practices are non-sectarian and can be practiced by anyone, regardless of religious orientation.
